Removing a Connection Server

Since I am running out of resources in my lab, I decided to remove one of my connection servers. The lucky connection server that will be put out to pasture is LAB-CS3.

Login to the connection server to be removed and uninstall VMware Horizon view Connection Server.

Also, remove AD LDS instance aka ADAM database.

Once the components above have been removed, login to one of the connection server, open a CMD, cd to C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Server\bin and run vdmadmin.exe -S –r –s connection server to be removed. If done correctly, you will see the message ‘The specified server has been scheduled for removal from this configurations’

Verify that the connection server no longer shows up on the admin dashboard.
