A couple of weeks ago I ran into an issue where users could not close or drag the explorer window around. The only way to close the window is by going to the taskbar and right clicking on the explorer folder icon and closing it from there. One symptom I noticed is that along the search field, there is a blue highlight. (See pic below).
This issue is caused by disabling the Themes Service. When I optimized my parent Image, I disabled the service by accident.
To fix this issue, turn on your GOLDEN IMAGE, open Windows services and go to the Themes service and set the Startup type to Automatic.
Shutdown your GOLDEN IMAGE, snapshot it and recompose.
Notice that the blue highlight over the search field is gone and I can now close my window and move it around.
